I've got a Masters Degree!!!!!

On Saturday, May 8th, I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction!!! It was a long, tough road but it was so worth it! I, not only, get a raise but I, also, learned many new ideas that I was able to bring back and apply in my classroom already!!! And.... I finally got to graduate in the GROVE!!!! When I was an undergrad, it rained on my graduation day so we had to move to an indoor facility. It was not as special since the Grove is just so beautiful and a special part of our university!!!
Unfortunately, my family could not be there on Saturday! My mom had knee replacement surgery, my dad was out of town, and my sister lives in LA! While I was disappointed that they weren't there to share this special day with me, I completely understood!! And... I have AMAZING friends who came to support me! Andrea, Natalee, and Jacob all showed up at 8 am on Saturday morning for breakfast and mimosas!!! Michelle, a friend of mine who also graduated, and her family came and joined us as well! We left for Oxford around 8:45! Nick and Jeremy met us in Oxford, as well!! Graduation was at 11 in the Grove and the weather was perfect!!!!
This is me walking down the Walk of Champions in the processional! I love that I am peeking around this lady's fancy do!
Walking across the stage and receiving my diploma....
This is my dear friend, Dr. Rhonda M. Reed! She was actually my master teacher during my student teaching in undergrad! Since then, we have remained just the best of friends and I am so thankful that she came to support me. She taught me sooooooooooo much about being a teacher and I wouldn't be half the teacher I am without her! She is the best teacher that I know.
Me and sweet Andrea acting silly!
We did it!!!!!!!!! Michelle and I showing off our hoods!!!!!
Me and Andrea at our beloved school! She will be finished with her Masters next year!!! YAY!!!!
After graduation, we headed to the square for some lunch! We ended up eating on the balcony at the Burgundy Room/Old Venice! I love their bellinis!!!!! It was kind of chilly but the sun was shining and I had the best time laughing with great friends!!!!
Nick, Jeremy, Me, Andrea, Natalee, and Jacob at lunch! Thank you, dear friends, for giving up your day to come and support me! You will never ever know how very much it meant to me for you to be there! A memory of that day will be in my heart always!!! Love you all!!!!
So, I am basically finished and ready for the summer! Ten days until summer vacation!!!!! YAY!

SUYL- My Future Children's Names

Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of one day having a big family! My dream is that my home will one day be filled with the joy and laughter that children bring and that it will continue for the rest of my life as I journey through motherhood! While this dream has not come to fruition (yet), I have not lost hope and I know that one day I will love my job as a mother! It is the job I am most looking forward to in this life!!! On Friday, over at Kelly's Korner was SUYL- Children's Names. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to participate in this SUYL because I already have so many names picked out for my FUTURE CHILDREN!!!

When I was little, I wanted to be just like the Von Trapp family and have seven children! I thought it would be perfect!!!
This was my absolute favorite movie and I watched it just about every day of 2nd grade! I would line my babies up on the bed (all 7 of them) and name them just like the Von Trapp family in their "So Long, Farewell" number! Well, as I have gotten older, and realized a little bit more about life, I realize 7 children is probably too many so I have scaled it down a bit! Now, I hope to have, at least, 4! We will see what the future holds but these are the names I love for my firstborn:

My First Child: Ramsey Sutton (girl) or Sutton Brooks (boy)
Ramsey is a family name way down the line on my mom's paternal side and I love it for a girl!
Brooks is after my sister, Brooke.
SUTTON, which will be used on my first born, is after my maternal grandfather, my Papa. Sutton was his middle name and I have wanted to name my child this since before I can remember.

Following the first child, I have several names I just adore:
Girls-
Margie Dulin- Margie is a family name and Dulin is my mother's maiden name!
Nealy Greer- Neal is my dad's middle name and I just like Greer.
Grayson Ann- Both of these are family names. Ann is my Memom's middle name and my aunt's first name and Grayson comes from the beginning of the Dulin family tree.
Boys-
Jackson Graves- I just love Jackson and Graves is the last name of my grandparent's very good friends! They are a family that means a lot to us!
Hudson Cooper

These are just a few of the names I love! They change every so often in rank but I love the names in general! I might even mix them up at times too! Oh, I can't wait to name my first baby!

One never graduates from Ole Miss....

During college, I was so blessed to meet so many different friends from so many different places! Those four years were the best four years of my life thus far and I cherish so many of the friendships I made during that time. I remember the day I "left" Ole Miss as a student. It was several days after graduation but it is a memory that is etched in my heart forever. There were about 8 of us who were still in Oxford and we all planned to leave sometime during that week so we decided to have lunch at Old Venice before several of us left for our new 'homes". After lunch, we all said our "see ya laters" and went our separate ways on the square back to our packed cars. It seems simple right- well, it was simple but it was also such a startling realization, at the time. Each of us turning towards our cars symbolized exactly what was happening in our lives. I think about that day often but I am confident that no matter how far away I am from those friendships, they are ones I will have forever!!!!! And for those friendships I am forever grateful....

So this month, three of these great friends from Ole Miss celebrated birthdays! At the beginning of the month, we celebrated Chuck's birthday. His precious wife, Julie, planned a great party where we enjoyed hanging out on the patio, BBQ, and poker. Julie is the hostess with the mostess and any even at their house is always a success.

(Side note- I did not know Julie while I was at Ole Miss! Chuck met her right after college and I could not be more thankful! We have become the best of friends and I look forward to so many years of friendship with my Julie Bug! She is such an amazing person and she is one of my most favorite people in the world!!!)

Here is the birthday boy himself (in the middle) with John and a friend from work...

Also, in May, my friend, Drew, turned 30!!!! His sweet wife, Kate, planned a surprise party for him last weekend in Oxford!

(the birthday boy and the party planner)

It was a so much fun to see friends that I don't get to see very often! Here is a group of some of my favorite people in the world! Every time we do get to see each other, we pick up right where we left off!!!!

These are two of my best friends in the world!!! Nicholas and Virginia TB! I think this captures their personalities so well!

I always enjoy spending time with my friend's especially those I don't get to see very often! Drew's surprise birthday provided the perfect opportunity! I wish we ALL could have been there! Oh what a party!!!

The last birthday of the month was my very best friend in the world, Nick! We went out to dinner in midtown at the Beauty Shop! There was a big group of us and I laughed the entire time!!!

YUMMY CAKE!!!!!

Nick and me!

Nick and Jeremy

There are many reasons to celebrate! One reason I enjoy celebrating is I am blessed with many great friendships!!!!! My prayer is that every person I know is blessed with the same kind of friendships!!!

(I just remembered that we celebrated my friend, Andrea's birthday on March 31st! I haven't uploaded those pictures yet but as soon as I do, I will be sure to post!!! We had a great time at Pearl's Oyster House! The food is yummy so if you have never been, I highly recommend it!!!!)
